Sally Havlis is a Chicago resident who earned both an MA and an MFA from Northern Illinois University. Her artwork explores the nature, expressivity, and communicative possibilities of the material called “paint.“ Over the past 20 years, Havlis has exhibited her work in a number of Chicago galleries. As an art teacher she helped establish an art school in the Chicago Public system at which she also taught. In addition to teaching several classes at Harper College, she has served on advisory committees at The Art Institute of Chicago and has worked in collaboration with The National Museum of Mexican Art.
